Crude Palm Oil (CPO)
Crude palm oil enquiries structured around FFA, moisture and impurities, DOBI, origin, shipment size, inspection and delivery basis.
Product overview
Clear specification.
Commercial alignment.
Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is an unrefined palm-derived oil used primarily as refinery feedstock for edible-oil and oleochemical value chains. Commercial quality terminology varies by origin, producer and contract, so every transaction should be anchored to an agreed specification, certificate of analysis, independent inspection basis and destination requirements.

CPO commercial quality options
Specification first.
Grade names second.
Final quality is governed by the signed specification, certificate of analysis and agreed inspection method.
Standard Quality (STD) CPO
FFA max. 5.0% · M&I max. 0.25% · DOBI min. 2.31 · Chlorine max. 2 ppmMPOB benchmark basis for Malaysian CPO; final contractual requirements may add further parameters.
Special Quality (SQ) CPO
FFA max. 2.5% · M&I max. 0.25%Recognised special-quality specification; remaining parameters must be stated in the sale contract and COA.
Low-FFA Contract CPO
Example: FFA max. 3.5% when specifically agreedA buyer/seller contract quality rather than a universal grade name; all parameters must be expressly defined.
Very-Low-FFA / Premium Contract CPO
Example: FFA below 1.5% where specifically availableSpecialty contract quality; not a universal formal grade and subject to producer capability and agreed testing.
High-DOBI CPO
DOBI 2.99–3.23Higher bleachability/refining-quality band when supported by COA and inspection.
Very-High-DOBI CPO
DOBI 3.24 or higherPremium DOBI band; final acceptance parameters are contractual.
Buyer-Specified CPO
Contract-defined qualityFor tenders or term contracts requiring a specific FFA, DOBI, contaminants, sustainability or origin profile.
CPO does not have one universal global grade naming system. The quality bands shown here are commercial specification options, not a representation that every origin or supplier uses identical grade names. The signed contract, COA and agreed inspection method govern each cargo.
